CRITIC'S CORNER: TEARS FOR FEARS' THE HURTING

The Hurting is the debut album by the Duo TEARS FOR FEARS, originally released in early 1983. The album was available in two cover variants: the sitting boy on white background for the EU continent and the Band sitting on a Pond cover for America and Japan.

The songs on the album PALE SHELTER, MAD WORLD and CHANGE pushed the album Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith into the limelight.

Tears for Fears stand out among the current crop of similar sounding synth-pop groups by virtue of their resourceful, stylish songwriting and fetching rhythmic sway.
